The president of the Republic of Seychelles and Commander-in Chief of the Seychelles Armed force, Mr. Wavel Ramalawan, presided over a brief ceremony at State House this morning, where he had the honour of promoting and commissioning four SDF officers.
Captain Iven Moise, who was promoted in December 2023, was the first officer to be officially promoted upon his returning from overseas training. Following him, second Lieutenant Derick Dodin and second Lieutenant Fady Faure where commissioned, having attended their officer Cadet courses at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala from December 2023 to May 2024. Second Lieutenant Anil Buron, the youngest among the officers with four years of experience, has just returned from his cadet course at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, India.
The four army officers have been equipped with the expertise necessary to fulfill the requirements of their respective branches in the Seychelles military. They have undergone extensive military training to ensure they are capable of meeting the rigorous demand of the uniformed service and demonstrating strong leadership potential.
In his address, the Commander-in-Chief extended his congratulations to the officers on their promotion and commissioning, acknowledging their discipline and effort as qualified officers. ‘’You have successfully completed your training and are now qualified in your respective field. It is expected that you will discharge your responsibilities with great respect towards your seniors, upholding the professional standards demanded,” said president Ramkalawan.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Vice President, Ahmed Afif, Chief of defence forces, Brigadier Micheal Rosette, Chief of Staff of the Seychelles Defence force, Colonel Jean Atala and other high-ranking officials of the Seychelles Defence Forces.
