On behalf of the country and on his personal behalf, President Wavel Ramkalawan has sent a message of congratulations to the Seychelles Anglican Diocese on the occasion of the celebration of its 50th Anniversary.
"We rejoice with you on the celebration of fifty years of the Lord's goodness and blessings upon the Seychelles Anglican Diocese. We are grateful for the faithfulness of those who have served the Diocese and through them, the important pastoral ministry given to our people.
Attaining a golden jubilee is not only an important milestone for the founders of the church but also a reflection of 50 years of growth of the Anglican Faith. We give thanks to the Lord for preserving the Anglican faith and remain eternally grateful for the continued spiritual growth of the congregation and the clergy as they Minister the word of God. May God continue to bless the Anglican Diocese in Seychelles as you continue God's work to lead, instil values and above all help bring reconciliation among our people.
The country recognises the role the church has played in the education of our children and in caring for the people through her pastoral ministry.
I wish you blessings as the nation says ‘ Thank you!’
