President Wavel Ramkalawan met with Ambassador Lalatiana Accouche, today at State House following her appointment as the new head of the Seychelles High Commission in New Delhi, India, and upon receiving the Agrément of the Indian Government.
The Head of State congratulated Ambassador Accouche on new posting and wished her well as she takes on the new tasks ahead.
“I would like to congratulate you as you take on this new posting. I have no doubt that you will discharge your responsibilities based on your expertise and abilities. I hope that during your tenure you will help bring new impetus to the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Seychelles and the Republic of India and consolidate this longstanding friendship,” said the President.
On her part, Ambassador Accouche thanked President Ramkalawan and the Department of Foreign Affairs for believing in her abilities and in bestowing this new responsibility on her, “I am ready to take on board this new challenge and approaching it positively. Mr. President, I thank you and the Department of Foreign Affairs for entrusting me with this new task. I shall do my utmost and wish to reaffirm my commitment to put Seychelles first while advancing its diplomatic relations with India,” she said.
Ambassador Accouche will leave for New Delhi, India next week where she will also be accredited to countries under the jurisdiction of the High Commission there.
