The President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan received the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for a courtesy call this morning at State House.

During the meeting, President Ramkalawan and His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed discussed matters of cooperation between the two countries. President Ramkalawan extended a warm welcome to him to the Seychelles shores whilst conveying the country’s willingness to further enhance the relations between Seychelles and the UAE. 

“On behalf of Seychelles, I am honoured to receive you here at State House. Today we further affirm our commitment to cement the existing ties of friendship between our two friendly nations. With the shared importance that both our countries place on environment conservation and renewable sources of energy, we look forward to exploring new ways to collaborate for the benefit of both our peoples” said President Ramkalawan.

On his part, the President of the UAE reciprocated the good wishes and friendly ties between Seychelles and the UAE and expressed his wish that the existing diplomatic relations continue to grow through areas of mutual interest.

Also present was the Vice-President, Mr Ahmed Afif, the Designated Ministers, Mr Jean-Francois Ferrari and the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Vivianne Fock Tave.
