President Wavel Ramkalawan visited the Anse Boileau Health Centre and the Beau Vallon Health Centre yesterday afternoon. His visits coincide with World Health Day commemorated worldwide today and World Health Worker Week from 4th to 8th April this year, commemorated under the theme ‘Build the Health Workforce back better’.
At the Beau Vallon Health Centre, the President was welcomed by the Minister for Health, Mrs. Peggy Vidot, the Principal Secretary for Health, Dr. Bernard Valentin, the Chief Executive of Health Care Agency, Mr. Danny Louange, the Public Health Commissioner, Dr Jude Gedeon, other Ministry of Health officials and Acting Nurse Manager of the Beau Vallon Health Centre, Ms. Wendy Dorby where he was given a brief tour of the clinic and its facilities.
Following this, President Ramkalawan conveyed his deepest appreciation to the staff for their hard work and dedication, throughout their career though their challenges. He hoped that through the National Health Strategic Plan for 2022, the health care system will further improve. President Ramkalawan reiterated the importance of the specialization of the nurses so that they can deliver the best in their work.
President Ramkalawan was welcomed to Anse Boileau Health Centre by the Nurse Manager of the Anse Boileau Health Centre, Mrs Lorna Vidot, There, the President met with the staff and where he once again thanked them for their devotion and encouraged them to continue to give the best service to their patients. He conveyed his continuous support and that of the Government to all the Health Workers.
“I would to like thank you for your continuous commitment and for the incredible work that you are all doing. One that you deliver sometimes without being appreciated but you who are at the frontlines are always giving the best of yourself. But today, I want to tell all health workers that the people of Seychelles appreciate and are grateful for the incredible work you are doing,” said the President.
A small meeting was held with the senior management of the Ministry of Health, there the President thanked them for the leadership throughout and to keep up the good work that they are doing.
