President Wavel Ramkalawan welcomed the Country Coordinator of the Redeemed Christian Church of God- Seychelles, Pastor Terrence Payet accompanied by a delegation at State House, yesterday morning.

In welcoming the delegation to State House, the President stressed on the importance of all faith based organizations to be granted the freedom to practice their faiths and allowed the spiritual freedom.

“We want to see a Seychelles where all faiths are respected and everyone has the freedom to exercise their spiritual beliefs in peace whilst respecting one another. Thank you for all the positive contributions you are making in the community, rest assured of the full support of the Government” said President Ramkalawan.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss current affairs and societal issues affecting the community. Through discussions, the members present were also able to raise certain key concerns and challenges affecting their organization.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Pastor Payet said they feel honoured to be welcomed and recognized by the highest office in the country and expressed their appreciation to the President for making the time to meet with them.

Present for the meeting at State House were Pastor Mrs. Maria Payet, Pastor Mrs. Marieline Camille, Pastor Mr. Jones Camille, Pastor Adekele Johnson and the Church Liaison Officer, Denise Dufresne.
