President Wavel Ramkalawan received Bishop Denis Wiehe for a courtesy call at State House, yesterday morning.
Bishop Weihe, as the former Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Port Victoria, now bishop emeritus is current visiting Seychelles from Mauritius, where he is based.
The meeting with the Head of State was an opportunity for the President and Bishop Wiehe to discuss current affairs in Seychelles and exchange views of various topics pertaining to the wellbeing of the country and the people.
President Ramkalawan said, Bishop Wiehe remains a dear friend of Seychelles and his continuous support and advice to the country is always welcomed and appreciated.
Bishop Wiehe during his tenure has played an instrumental role in improving relations with all the other religious denominations in the country through his role as the Chairperson of the Seychelles Interfaith Council (SIFCO) since its inception.
