President Wavel Ramkalawan accompanied by a technical team visited the site of the West Coast road improvement project this morning. The visit provided the delegation with a first hand view of the approximately 2km proposed community road project.
Funded through a grant by Abu Dhabi through ongoing infrastructure support to Seychelles, the road is expected to stretch from the Anse La Mouche junction up to the Baie Lazare Police Station. Through the discussions held on site, the delegation also explored the possibility of extending the project up to the Baie Lazare Primary School and Church in order to maximise the benefits to the community. The objective of the onsite visit also provided the opportunity for the Head of State to be briefed on all the various technical aspects, infrastructural features and possible remedies for challenges raised.
Following the site visit, the delegation met at Anse à la Mouche to further discuss and agree on key decisions for the way forward. The President has given instructions to all relevant partner agencies present to engage and ensure the project is executed at the soonest.
