The President of the Republic, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan received the Members of the Constitutional Appointment’s Authority (CAA) yesterday afternoon at State House. The chairman, Mr Michel Felix was accompanied by Mr. Willy Confait, Ms. Simone de Comarmond, Mrs. Marie-Nella Azemia, and Mrs. Annette Georges.

President Ramkalawan welcomed the members to State House and commended them for the excellent work they are doing. He expressed his wish that this meeting pave the way for fruitful discussion and how to move forward in making the Authority more effective in their daily duties.

The meeting was an opportunity for the members to raise concerns and make new recommendations in regards to the Constitution that governs the Authority, namely Article 134 and 139 as well as Section 45 of the Information Act.

In closing, the President again recognised their proposals whereby further discussions, considerations and follow ups will be made.

Also present at the meeting, was the Vice-President Ahmed Afif.
