The President of the Republic, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan formally received a copy of the Annual Report of the Ombudsman for the year of 2020 presented personally by the Ombudsman, Mrs. Nichole Tirant-Ghérardi.

During the meeting held at State House this morning, the Ombudsman briefed the Head of State on the operation of her office, challenges being encountered and shared recommendations of how to further improve the work of the institution.

The President conveyed his sincere appreciation to Mrs Tirant-Ghérardi for her hard work and commitment and pledged the full support of Government to further empower the office of the Ombudsman in the discharge of its functions.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Mrs Tirant-Ghérardi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to discuss her propositions with the President and share ongoing improvements for the betterment of institution and the country in general.
