President Faure visited the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) Office located at Maison Colette in Victoria as part of his series of visit to institutions playing a key role in the country. SRC was also one of the organisations whose employees continued to work during the COVID-19 restriction of movement period. 

He was welcomed by the Chairperson of the Seychelles Revenue Commissioner, Mr. Chrystold Chetty, Seychelles Revenue Commissioner Mrs. Veronique Herminie, and the Deputy Revenue

Commissioner, Mr. Fred Morel. The delegation visited the three main sections at the SRC: the Revenue section , the  Enforcement section and the Audit section.

During the tour, President Faure was formally introduced to the staff and took the time to understand the nature of operations, hear their contributions and brainstorm solutions.

Addressing the management team after the visit, the President shared his appreciation for all the hard work and high level of professionalism displayed by SRC Officials. He urged them to continue upholding their high standards of professional conduct. "I would like to thank everyone at the SRC for all your hard work. Despite the challenges that you face, you continue to serve your organisation and the country with integrity. Thank you for ensuring that we continue to collect revenue, particularly now with the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We all need to brace ourselves for tough times ahead and I hope we can continue further improving SRC together," said President Faure.

The Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) was established through the Seychelles Revenue Commission Act 2009 as the body responsible for the administration of Revenue laws. The SRC Act also mandates SRC to operate as an independent authority with responsibility to conduct its affairs in a transparent and efficient manner. However, the Ministry of Finance remains the parent Ministry with the responsibility to oversee major policy issues affecting revenue. SRC is headed by a Revenue Commissioner (CEO) who is responsible to the Minister of Finance for the management of SRC and the administration of all revenue laws.

SRC currently has a total of 340 staff members operating in the various offices located on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.
