President Danny Faure has today assented to the Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020, which was passed by the National Assembly on 26th May 2020.
The new amendments will allow Seychelles to enhance its credibility in terms of ease of doing business, by adopting modern international business standards, and implementing international standards of compliance.
The Companies Act 1972 has been amended to allow the Registrar of Companies to issue Certificates of Current Standing and Certificates of Official Search. The new law will also provide amongst other provisions, for the reservation of names, for companies to provide more detailed information about their registered offices and for the Secretary of each Registered Company to be ordinarily resident in Seychelles.
