President Danny Faure chaired the second meeting for this week with the Law Enforcement committee and key command chain stakeholders at State House this morning.
The meetings, held every two days, provide a holistic overview of the situation in the country given the Public Health Emergency and associated restrictions of movement.
During the meeting, members provided their respective updates and mitigating strategies in place in line with the extension of the restriction of movement until 4 May, announced by the Public Health Commissioner, Dr Jude Gedeon this Tuesday.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Ted Barbe, expressed his appreciation to the general public for their cooperation over the past few weeks and urged them to continue respecting the measures in place. He stressed that this is a critical period for the country to ensure COVID-19 is successfully contained.
Present for the meeting at State House this morning was the Chief of Defence Forces, Colonel Clifford Roseline, Commissioner of Police, Mr Kishnan Labonte, Attorney General, Mr Frank Ally, Secretary of State for Health, Ambassador Marie-Pierre Lloyd, Principal Secretary for Health, Dr Bernard Valentin, Principal Secretary for Risk and Disaster Management, Mr Paul Labaleine, Chief of Staff of SPDF, Colonel Michael Rosette, the Public Health Commissioner, Dr Jude Gedeon, CEO of the Healthcare Agency, Dr Danny Louange, Senior Policy Adviser for the Department of Health, Dr Conrad Shamlaye, Special Advisor for Health, Dr Loren Reginald, Director General of the Seychelles Intelligence Service, Mr Benediste Hoareau and Deputy Commissioners of Police, Mr Ted Barbe and Mr Romano Songor.
