President Faure meets with Police Force on La Digue and Praslin

President Danny Faure met with members of the police force on La Digue and Praslin this afternoon. He received a brief on the enforcement of Public Health regulations in the inner islands, and how best to overcome the challenges being faced by law enforcement officials.

Speaking to police officers on La Digue, the President thanked them sincerely for their ongoing efforts in keeping members of the public safe. Expressing his gratitude for their hard work, he discussed the resources and support in place to support the work of the police.

On Praslin, the President met with members of the police force at the Grand Anse police station. Thanking them for their commitment and sacrifice during this time, President Faure confirmed the list of equipment that would be procured for their use. Members of the police force detailed some of their challenges with ensuring members of the public obey the measures in place and their strategies to maintain compliance.

The meetings this afternoon were an opportunity for the President to thank the police force on La Digue and Praslin for their hard work in person, and also address any challenges hampering their ability to ensure members of the public follow the measures from the Public Health Authority. This includes the restriction of movement between 7pm and 6am coming into force on Friday 17 April.

He was accompanied on his visit by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Kishnan Labonte.
