President Danny Faure has today assented to the Appropriation (Amendment) Act 2020 which provides for a Budget of SR10,447,151,547 (Ten billion, four hundred and forty seven million, one hundred and fifty-one thousand, five hundred and forty-seven rupees) for the calendar year 2020.
The amended Appropriation Act was approved by the National Assembly on 9th April, 2020.

The amount approved is some SR1.2 billion higher than the budget approved earlier for 2020, and takes into consideration revised priorities necessitated by Government’s response to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and its adverse impact on the national economy.

Present to witness the signing was the Attorney General, Mr Frank Ally and the Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment, Mr Maurice Loustau-Lalanne.
