The new Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Seychelles, H.E Artem Alexandrovich Kozhin, presented his credentials to President Danny Faure during an accreditation ceremony held at State House this morning.
President Faure congratulated Ambassador Kozhin on his accreditation, an event he said symbolises the commitment of both Seychelles and Russia to further consolidate the warm ties that exist between the two nations. He further expressed Seychelles’ interests in strengthening the bilateral ties between Seychelles and the Russian Federation.
“On behalf of the people and the government of Seychelles, I wish to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to Seychelles. We are committed to cementing our friendship with Russia. We believe that there is great scope for growth on a multitude of levels. We are confident that with your appointment, further progress in areas of mutual importance can be cultivated and that opportunities can be capitalized upon,” said President Faure.
On his part, Ambassador Kozhin reaffirmed his commitment to strengthen the relations between Seychelles and the Russian Federation both bilaterally as well as in the global arena. Topics of discussion included areas such as Investment and Trade, Tourism, Education and specialised training, Health, as well as others.
Also present for the accreditation was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, the Principal Secretary for the Department of Foreign Affairs, Dr Marina Confait, and Foreign Affairs officials.
