Pretoria, South Africa: President Danny Faure attended the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of South Africa, Mr Cyril Ramaphosa, in Pretoria this morning.

President Faure joined 19 other Heads of State from around the world and other dignitaries at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, for the inauguration of the sixth President of the Republic of South Africa. The ceremony was held under the theme “Together celebrating democracy: Renewal and Growth for a better South Africa”. The Presidential Inauguration coincided with Africa Day, commemorated on 25 May.

The Oath of Office was administered by the Chief Justice of South Africa, Hon. Mogoeng Mogoeng. This was followed by President Ramaphosa’s inaugural address to the nation, after which there was a flypast air display by South African Airways (SAA) and the South African Air Force.
