President Danny Faure has today announced the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Agency for the Prevention of Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation. This follows the recommendations of the board of the Agency and is line with Sections 12 and 14 of the Prevention of Drug Abuse & Rehabilitation Agency (Amendment) Act, 2017.
The new Chief Executive Officer will be Ms Geralda Desaubin. Ms Desaubin has been serving as the Deputy CEO of the Agency since the 1st January 2018.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer will be Ms Marie-Josette Louise. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a First Degree in nursing from the University of Malta.
Ms Louise has been working with the Agency since its establishment as the Chief Liaison Officer for treatment and rehabilitation.
Both appointments will take effect from 1st April 2019.
