The Ambassador of Switzerland to Seychelles, H.E. Mr Phillipe Brant, paid a farewell call on the President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, at State House this morning following a four year tenure in Seychelles.
The President conveyed his appreciation to Ambassador Brant on behalf of Government for all his support over the years, and for cultivating the warm relations that exist between Seychelles and Switzerland. “I would like to thank you for all you have done during your tenure. Our two nations enjoy excellent relations and we look forward to further consolidating our bilateral ties with the arrival of your successor,” said President Faure. “I would like to wish you all the very best in your future endeavours,” he said.
The Farewell call was an opportunity for President Faure and Ambassador Brant to discuss the state of bilateral relations in some key areas including tourism, air connectivity, multilateral cooperation and renewable energy and sustainability.
President Faure also thanked and congratulated the Honorary Consul for Switzerland in Seychelles, Mrs Angelika Maurel-Muehlheim, who has been discharging her duties for the past 20 years and was present at the meeting this morning.
Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Brant expressed his appreciation for the excellent relations that exist between Seychelles and Switzerland in various areas and expressed the wish to further explore new potential areas of mutual interest for the two countries.
Also present at the meeting at State House was the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and the Blue Economy, Ambassador Barry Faure, and the Director General for Foreign Policy Division, Ms Lindy Ernesta.
