The President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, met with Her Royal Highness Princess Zenani N. Dlamini, the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to Seychelles, for a courtesy call this morning at State House.
President Faure welcomed H.R.H Princess N. Dlamini and her delegation back to Seychelles and said that the bilateral relations between Seychelles and South Africa have reached unprecedented heights. He expressed his hope that the relationship continues to strengthen through united efforts on matters of mutual interest.
“Seychelles would like to express its deepest gratitude to South Africa for the remarkable partnership that we have built over the years. Particularly recently in the area of law enforcement, we are grateful for the support extended to the police and our intelligence services. Such cooperation will ensure we further cement the strong bond of friendship we have been privileged to share over the years,” said President Faure.
Speaking at the meeting, H.R.H Princess N. Dlamini first and foremost presented her condolences on behalf of her family and the Republic of South Africa to the Government and people of Seychelles following the passing of Former President France Albert René. During discussions with President Faure H.R.H Princess N. Dlamini reaffirmed her commitment to review and further consolidate the bilteral ties that exist between the two countries.
Seychelles and South Africa established diplomatic relations on 8 November 1993.
