In accordance with the recommendations of the Constitutional Appointments Authority, President Danny Faure has today appointed Judge Mohan Burhan as the Acting Chief Justice during the absence from the Republic, on overseas mission, of Chief Justice Dr Mathilda Twomey, from 15th to 22nd February 2019.

Dr Twomey will be attending the 3rd High Level Meeting of the Chief Justices of the African Constitutional and Supreme Courts and Councils, being held in Cairo.
