Following the retirement of Brigadier Leopold Payet, the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles People's Defence Forces (SPDF), Mr Danny Faure, has appointed Colonel Clifford Roseline as the Chief of Defence Forces. Colonel Roseline has been appointed for a period of two years effective from 1 January 2019.

Colonel Roseline was presented with his Instrument of Appointment by the Commander-in-Chief at a ceremony at State House this morning.

Colonel Roseline joined the SPDF in 1978. He was most recently serving as the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces, a position to which he was appointed on 12 August 2016. Prior to that, he served as the Chief of Staff at SPDF from July 2007 and the Chief Military Advisor to the President of the Republic between February 2015 and August 2016.
