President Faure commends Long-Serving Retiring Officers

The President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, received two retirees at State House this morning: Mr Gilbert Faure and Desire Payet. They were joined by the Chief Secretary and Head of Civil Service in the Office of the President, Ms Jessie Esparon.

During the meeting, the President extended his heartfelt thanks on behalf of Government and the people of Seychelles to the retirees for their long years dedicated to serving the people of Seychelles.

Mr Gilbert Faure has served for 45 years in public service. He started his career at the Meteorological Services as Met Assistant. After pursuing further studies in England, and upon his return in 1983 he applied for the post of Assistant Airport Manager. He got promoted in different posts until 1995 when he became the Director General Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority. After further restructuring, Mr Faure became the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority until retirement.

Mr Desire Payet has clocked 41 years of service in the public sector. He started working for the public service in May 1977 in different posts at the Police Department, Ministry of Education, Seychelles Public Transport Corporation among others. Before his retirement, Mr Payet was working as a Road Transport Commissioner with the Ministry of Habitat, Infrastructure, and Land Transport.
