Nairobi, Kenya: President Danny Faure held talks with the President of Zanzibar in the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Ali Mohamed Shein, in the margins of the Global Conference on Sustainable Blue Economy yesterday.

The two leaders expressed the need to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between Tanzania, Zanzibar and Seychelles. They underlined the importance for Seychelles and Zanzibar to nurture their relations as neighbouring islands of the Indian Ocean, given their proximity and similarities.

They discussed issues of common interest, such as tourism, environment, blue economy, and fisheries among others.

At the end of the meeting, both leaders agreed that their countries should have a general cooperation agreement in order to clearly establish a blueprint for cooperation moving forward.
