President Danny Faure will be travelling to Paris, France to attend the inaugural edition of the Paris Peace Forum at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, Mr Emmanuel Macron. The Forum is set to be inaugurated on 11 November 2018, also Armistice Day, marking 100 years since the end of World War I.
The Paris Peace Forum is aimed at reviving collective governance, international cooperation, and institution-building given the existing global context. It was initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron to gather all actors of global governance, from states and international organisations to civil society, and feature projects and initiatives meant at improving global governance in five key domains: peace and security, environment, development, new technologies and inclusive economy.
President Faure will leave the country on Saturday 10 November 2018 and will be back in office on Monday 12 November 2018.
