President Danny Faure will be visiting Alphonse Island today to officially launch the Renewable Energy Project.

Alphonse Island is powered entirely using solar energy. The Renewable Energy Project will be managed by the Island Development Company (IDC). The visit will provide the President with the opportunity to see the IDC operations on the island first-hand.

Also present at the ceremony tomorrow will be the Minister of Finance, Trade, Investment and Economic Planning, Mr Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, and the Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr Wallace Cosgrow.
