President Danny Faure welcomed the Ambassador of the United States of America to Seychelles, H.E. David Reimer, at State House this morning.
President Faure welcomed Ambassador Reimer to Seychelles and noted that the Government of Seychelles greatly values the long-standing partnership that exists between Seychelles and the USA.
Their discussions focused on existing areas of bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and the USA, and areas for further collaboration moving forward. They also discussed how the USA could assist Seychelles in its fight against drug trafficking and improving maritime security, both of which remain top priorities for the Government of Seychelles.
Speaking to the local press after the meeting, Ambassador Reimer described the bilateral relations between Seychelles and the USA as excellent. He said that economic engagement and development remains a key priority of American President Donald Trump, and that Seychelles is a model to Africa in terms of its economic growth.
Based in Port Louis, Mauritius, Ambassador Reimer presented his credentials as American Ambassador to Seychelles in February this year.
