President Danny Faure launched the National Committee and the first working session to commemorate 250 years of First Settlement in Seychelles, this morning, at State House.
On this day when Seychelles marks the 248th anniversary since the first settlement was established on St Anne Island; the President addressed the Committee charged with the mandate to prepare memorable activities to allow the Nation to celebrate in two years’ time, on 27th August 2020, the historic moment for Seychelles.
The National Committee comprises of the following members:

The President stated that the celebration of this historical event should encapsulate who we are as Seychellois. The event should inspire the young generation, as well as the tourists to know more about our history and should also be an opportunity for the elderly to share their experiences.
