President Danny Faure has today assented to the 9th Amendment to the Constitution of the Republic of Seychelles.

The Constitution of the Republic of Seychelles (Ninth Amendment) Act was approved by the National Assembly on 25th July 2018, and was submitted for Presidential assent on 14th August.

The amendment removes the provision for a constitutional appointee pension for the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
