President James Michel conveyed his deepest condolences to the Government and people of the People's Republic of China on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic Seychelles in a message addressed to His Excellency Xi Jingping, President of People's Republic of China following the devastating earthquake in the province of Yunnan that claimed many lives.

President Michel offered prayers to the families affected by the incident and expressed his hope that the rescue workers find the courage and the strength in efforts to find the survivors.
