President James Michel has extended his sincere condolences to the People and Government of India following the deadly flooding that has occurred.
In a letter sent to President Pranab Mukherjee, President Michel expressed his sympathies to the victims and the families those affected:
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and suffering that the Indian state of Uttarakhand has been experiencing because of the severe flooding.
On behalf of the Government and people of Seychelles, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, and my deep sympathy to all whose lives have been affected. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of India during this most difficult time. The scale of the disaster is enormous but the resilience of the people of India is impressive.”
President Michel concluded by expressing the continued solidarity of the Seychellois people during this difficult time.
