President James Michel has extended his sincere condolences to the People and Government of India following a deadly attack on a convoy of party officials last week.

In a letter sent to President Pranab Mukherjee expressed his sympathies to the victims and the families those affected by the tragedy and conveyed his condemnation of the attack:

“It is with deep shock and much sadness that we learnt about the deadly attack in Chhattisgarh on a convoy carrying various congress party leaders and workers…

“I also join the Indian government in strongly condemning these barbaric attacks and reiterate the call made for renewed efforts in fighting extremism and violence.”

President Michel concluded by expressing the continued solidarity of the Seychellois people.
