The President has appointed the members of the National Disaster Relief Fund, which will be chaired by Mrs Lekha Nair, the Principal Secretary for President’s Office Administration, effective 30th January 2013.

The Fund replaces the National Emergency Foundation created in 2005, with the introduction of new legislation yesterday which allows for the  incorporation of the foundation’s assets into the new fund.

Those affected by the flooding disaster who are seeking financial assistance still need to make their requests at the District Administration Office.

For those who wish to make donations to the Fund, the account number at Nouvobanq, Seychelles.

All cheques should be made on National Disaster Relief Fund.
