July 11, 2012 -- The new ambassador of Indonesia to Seychelles, Mr Sunu M. Soemarno, presented his credentials to President James A Michel at State House yesterday.
After the accreditation ceremony Ambassador Soemarno called on Vice-President Danny Faure.
He told the national media afterwards that his talks with the President and Vice-President were very fruitful and they discussed a variety of issues.
“Indonesia and Seychelles are both island developing countries which share many similarities and concerns and our discussions centred on how to find new ways to develop our economic cooperation,” he said.
The areas of further cooperation were to be detailed during a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Jean-Paul Adam.
Ambassador Soemarno is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
A number of Indonesian nationals work in Seychelles, notably in the tourism industry.
