March 23, 2011 -- A Commonwealth team on a pre-election mission in Seychelles yesterday called on President James Michel at State House.
Ambassador Ayo Oke, head of the African section in the Commonwealth Secretariat's Political Affairs Division, said as head of the team that "we have been able to update ourselves on current developments in the political area in Seychelles".Â
He added that the mission has been very successful and they are satisfied with how the political parties are preparing for the forthcoming presidential election.
Other members of the team are Martin Kasirye, an adviser in the African section, and political affairs officer Sabhita Raju.Â
The team is expected to leave Seychelles tomorrow. Another mission is planned before the election in May.
