July 13, 2010 -- The new high commissioner of Pakistan to Seychelles, Mr Muhammad Siddique, presented his credentials to President James A Michel at State House on Monday.
Mr Siddique is the 11th Pakistan high commissioner to be accredited to Seychelles.
After the presentation of credentials he met the Vice-President, Mr Dannny Faure.
"We have been able to identify a number of areas where there can be cooperation between the two countries," Mr Siddique told the media after the meetings with the President and Vice-President.
He said that trade, tourism, education and fisheries are the areas which Pakistan is willing to tighten bi-lateral relations with Seychelles.
He noted that Pakistan is one of the biggest rice producers in the world and that the commodity is a staple food for the Seychellois. Pakistan's rice market can be beneficial to Seychelles, he added. Â
