Message by President Danny Faure
on the Occasion of Children's Day
1st June 2018
Today is a special day where people across the country celebrate Seychelles’ most precious resource – our children.
1 June belongs to our children. As parents and educators we celebrate with them. It is our duty and responsibility to care for them, cherish them, and guide them.
It is a day to remember that children need love and respect to grow to their full potential. It is a day to appreciate their uniqueness and all that they have to offer. It is a day to celebrate the family and think about how adults affect the development of children close to them.
We live in challenging times, but it is also a time of great opportunity. We have a duty to remind every one of our children, every day, of these opportunities. Let us ensure that we teach them the values and skills they need to seize these opportunities. Let our efforts be guided by one common goal; the wholesome development of every Seychellois child.
The future of Seychelles depends on the healthy development of our children. On behalf of the Government and people of Seychelles, I wish all children happiness and joy on this special day.
