The President chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday 8th August, at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.
Cabinet approved the National Measles Vaccination Campaign for health workers and the general adult population, born before 1988.
Cabinet approved for the enactment of the Domestic Violence Bill.
Cabinet considered and approved the Policy Framework for Regulations on Minimum Standard of Care in Children’s Care Home to ensure that all Children Care Homes provide a safe and stimulating environment where children are loved and nurtured.
Cabinet also approved for the establishment of a School-Based Substance Use Prevention Framework for the country to prevent or delay the onset of the use of substances in school children and the youth.
Cabinet gave approval to review the Property Management Corporation Act, 2004, with the view to modernise certain provisions of the legislation.
Cabinet also approved the updated Geodetic Control Network Campaign which will run from 8th August to the 2nd October, 2019.
Cabinet approved the draft Merchant Shipping (International Ship & Port Facility Security Code) Regulations, 2019, to fulfil Seychelles’ International Obligations to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
Cabinet approved options for the reform of the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation to enable SPTC to play an important role in the public transport sector.
