The President chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday 24th July, at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.
Cabinet approved the Implementation of the Mahe Plateau Trap and Line Fishery Co-Management Plan.
Cabinet considered the setting up of a National “Made in Seychelles” brand and label for the empowerment, promotion and consumption of locally produced products.
Cabinet was updated on the Industrial Estate’s Authority’s proposal to establish enterprise centres across the country.
Cabinet also approved the Amendments to S.I 36 of 2018 on the Employment Conditions of Stevedores to provide for the legal framework related to the working conditions of Stevedores.
Cabinet also approved the Public Assembly (Speaker’s Corner) Regulations, 2019 to provide for an area in law and to give everyone an equal chance to exercise their fundamental right to freedom of expression.
Cabinet approved the provisions for introduction of the Vertical Integration Regulations.
Cabinet approved the Education (Terms and Conditions of Contractual Obligations) Regulations, 2019, to introduce a social contract between Parents, Teachers and Schools which would set the responsibilities of each party and hold them each accountable.
Cabinet approved for Seychelles to host the National Workshop on Maritime Security and the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) from 26th August 2019 to 30th August 2019.
