President Danny Faure chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on wednesday morning, 7th November, at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.
Cabinet approved the policy framework for the implementation of the Property Tax.
Cabinet approved a number of regulations for Financial Leasing Institutions to ensure that financial leasing institutions operate in a safe and sound manner. These regulations are the Liquidity Risk Management regulation, the Gearing regulation and the Capital Adequacy and Reserve Fund Amendment regulation.
Cabinet approved for the Seychelles Public Transport Corporation to withdraw from the special hire contract services sector effective March 2019.
Cabinet also gave its approval for the Seychelles Land Transport Agency (SLTA) to outsource the laying of asphalt on certain projects, whilst establishing quality standards for the work.
Cabinet also approved for the Seychelles Institute of Art and Design to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Mahatma Ghandi Institute and the Rabindranath Tagore Institute of Mauritius.
Cabinet endorsed the policy for the issuance of Diplomatic and Official Passports.
Cabinet approved the Seychelles National Youth Policy 2018 to 2023. This policy aims to bring all stakeholders together to play an active role in creating and sustaining a conducive environment for the development of the young people of Seychelles.
Cabinet considered the findings of an assessment of risks associated with activities and facilities located in Victoria and approved recommendations for actions to minimise such risks.
Cabinet also approved a policy proposal to turn the Seychelles News Agency into an independent entity.
