President Danny Faure chaired a scheduled meeting of the Cabinet on Wednesday, 29th August, at which a number of legal and policy memoranda were considered.
Cabinet approved the Tourism Development Bill (2018). Cabinet also approved amendments to the Seychelles Tourism Board Act.
Cabinet considered and approved plans to renovate and modernise the National Library Building.
Cabinet also approved proposal for Seychelles to participate in the Biennale di Venezia. This is an International Contemporary Visual Arts Exhibition.
Cabinet was briefed on the report of the Business Summit held in July 2018 and the proposed plans for the way forward.
Cabinet decided that all reports of findings and recommendations of investigations by the Office of the Ombudsman would be tabled at Cabinet so that recommendations that have policy or legal implications could be followed up by respective Ministries.
Cabinet was also briefed on companies who have defaulted on the employment laws, and on action being taken to ensure proper compliance.
