The President of the Republic, Mr Danny Faure, received various groups of retirees from the public service who have completed 25 years or more of continuous service at State House this morning.
The retirees come from various sectors of Government, including education, health, and the Seychelles Police Force. Notable among the 68 retiring public servants is Mrs Susan Charles, who has served almost 50 years with the Ministry of Education.
The President welcomed the retirees and expressed his honour at hosting such a special group of devoted workers. He thanked them for their dedication and conveyed his appreciation to the retirees for their many long years of hard work, loyalty, and sincerity to their various professions in Government.
“On behalf of the people of Seychelles and Government, I extend my sincere appreciation for your long years of service. Each and every one of you has worked tirelessly and have made a lot of sacrifices, but above all, you have been faithful and honest in your different professions. Some of you have served the public service for fifty years despite the many challenges. You are an example for those presently working, as it shows that with perseverance and teamwork you can contribute many years to a profession,” said President Faure.
During the ceremony, the President reiterated his aspirations and vision for Seychelles of promoting national unity and reconciliation. He called upon those working in Government and private sectors, as citizens, to work together and keep Seychelles a blessed country where peace, stability, and harmony reign in order for those retiring to enjoy their time.
All retirees were presented with a token of appreciation by President Faure and had the opportunity to interact with work colleagues during a brief reception.
