In his message, President Faure noted the great strides under the ideals of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in terms of economic development, industrial innovation general well being of the Chinese accomplished during the Chinese President's term in office. President Faure stated  "China's international role as a visionary beacon of world peace and in becoming a reliable defender of globalisation and climate change issues. The One Belt, One Road initiative, in particular, reflects China's determined willingness to play a more important role to improve the infrastructure for facilitation of world trade and integration.

President Faure also congratulated President Xi I on the enshrinement of the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and other amendments into the Chinese constitution.  He stated "these amendments reflect the will of the people and will contribute towards China's long term development goals in building a great modern socialist country."

In terms of relations between the two countries President Faure said" through the increased bilateral engagements over a multitude of different spectrums, the strong historical bonds between our two countries have taken our bilateral cooperation to new heights and deepened our people to people relations. In this regard,, I would like to express our deep appreciation for all the support shown to Seychelles over the years."
