President Danny Faure attended the official launching ceremony for the 2018 National Theme, Sesel mon Pei Beni, at the International Conference Centre this evening.
Poets and musicians showcased their passion and love for their country, while students from different schools spread their aspirations and vision around this year’s theme during a cultural programme.
The event began with a reflection by Father David Alcindor, representing the Seychelles Interfaith Council (SIFCO).
The event also saw the unveiling of this year's logo by the oldest citizen in Seychelles, Mrs Nancy Marie, 109 years old, and Miss Aurria Barbé, who recently regained her eyesight despite being blind since birth, as a result of eSight eyewear donated by ‘Make a Child Smile’.
The 2018 theme song was performed for the first time, while the “Everlasting Love Ministry” emphasised the importance of spirituality in order to have a blessed country, with their song “Avek Zezi”.
