The President of the Republic and Commander-In-Chief of the Seychelles People's Defence Forces (SPDF), Mr Danny Faure, visited the Defence Forces Headquarters at Bel Eau this morning.
Upon arrival, President Faure received a Presidential Salute by Guard of Honour and was welcomed by the Chief of Defence Forces, Brigadier Leopold Payet, and other SPDF officers.
The President attended a meeting with SPDF senior management where the Chief of Staff, Colonel Michael Rosette, gave a presentation. The presentation provided the President with an overall overview of the core tasks of SPDF as per the Constitution, the internal structures in place, the vision and mission, as well as future aspirations of SPDF.
The meeting was also an opportunity for the President and senior officials to discuss priority defence matters and agree on courses of action.
Following the meeting, President Faure was taken for a guided tour of the SPDF Headquarters where he met with both the military and civilian staff working at the Headquarters.
