Outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Seychelles Pays Farewell Visit

The Ambassador for Israel, H.E. Mr Yahel Vilan, paid a farewell call on President Danny Faure at State House this morning.

President Faure expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Vilan for having served his country and for his efforts to enhance the friendship between Seychelles and Israel during his tenure.

“Thank you for your service to your country and efforts in bolstering the Seychelles-Israel bilateral cooperation during your two-year term in office. We look forward to welcoming your successor to work with us in taking our relationship to greater heights,” said President Faure.

During their meeting, the President and the outgoing Ambassador discussed possible ways to collaborate and intensify cooperation in key priority areas for Seychelles such as capacity building, agriculture, irrigation, and water management.

President Faure also highlighted that there has been a positive increase in the number of Israeli tourists coming to Seychelles and the hopes that such partnership continues to increase the flow of visitors between the two countries.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Ambassador Vilan reaffirmed his country’s commitment for continued friendship between Israel and Seychelles and the possibility of future collaboration, particularly for joint projects.

Also present for the farewell call was the Foreign Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Claude Morel and the Diplomatic Adviser to the President, Ambassador Callixte D’Offay.
